RULES
- The 2010 Nemisis MTBA Australian MTB Marathon Championships race will be run in accordance to the UCI Rules, Part 4 Mountain Bike Races and the MTBA Technical Regulations. In any situation where rules are not clear or ambiguous the UCI rules will be used for clarification.
- The roads used in the event are not closed and all riders must abide by the road rules. Remember to KEEP LEFT AT ALL TIMES.
- All bicycles must be in a serviceable condition with fully functional brakes on both front and rear wheels. Riders are responsible for the safe working order of their bike. Big Hill Events will not undertake safety checks of bikes however we reserve the right to stop anybody from competing on a bike that is determined unsafe. It is strongly recommended that riders have a bike store check over their bike prior to racing.
- All competitors must wear an Australian certified bicycle helmet at ALL times
- Riders must start and finish the complete course on a bicycle.
- Only one bike can be used for the entire ride.
- Competitors must follow the marked course at all times.
- Race numbers must be displayed on the front handlebars.
- Technical Assistance is allowed throughout the 90km event in accordance with the UCI Laws. Technical Assistance shall only be given in the feed/technical assistance zones. All other distances are able to offer and accept technical assistance from fellow competitors or Big Hill Events staff. We want you to finish!
- Prior to your entry being accepted by Big Hill Events, all participants must accept the event waiver (as outlined in the registration process).
- Littering the course with inner tubes, food wrappers or any other rubbish will result in instant disqualification.
- Failure to abide by rules will result in time penalty or disqualification.
- The Chief Commissaire will make any decisions on protests or disqualification in consultation with the Technical Delegate.
- The Chief Commissaire has sole discretion to alter or amend the race format or the rules in order to increase rider safety or for any other reason deemed appropriate.
- All riders must have a MTBA license or MTBA day license or the equivalent UCI Licence.
