"I just wanted to say a big thank you to all involved in Sunday's event. As a first time competitor, I had a great day and look forward to chewing off a bit more of the course next year. Thanks to John Claxton for sparing the time to have a chat to someone at the other end of the fitness scale to himself and the advice (do some training!) will be heeded.

"A big thanks to the organisers for running such an enjoyable event and also for having the foresight to have mechanics with spares at Feed Zone One.

Thanks to the Spoke(n) mechanic guy for getting my machine shifting gears once more without my rear derailleur threatening to go through my spokes at the flick of a finger!"

"An awesome ride on Sunday - many thanks! I am primarily a 'rodie' and usually save the MTB for my own spinning around single tracks near home. This was my first MTB 'event' and if your organisational skills and support is indicative of other MTB events, I will be doing many more.

One of the best catered events I have completed (perhaps only second to the Audax Alpine Classic). Great marshalls, a great course - good mixture of single track and 4WD trails

Many thanks for a great event. See you next year (or earlier if you run other events)"

"Thanks for organising a great event yesterday - it was very hard to pick any faults. The helpers at the feed stations in particular deserve special praise for their enthusiasm and support.

Loved the course and the format, although the single track with 10km to go was a bit cruel (especially the scramble up that hill). I did the Otway Odyssey and actually found this course harder to do as it was more rideable, i.e. on the Otways I walked a lot of it whereas here I rode all but the steepest hills. This meant overall I actually felt worse, even though it took a lot less time and was nominally easier. Both events showed how fat and unfit I am though which is a great reason to do more of them and train harder.

Well done for an excellent first event, very impressed and will watch out for future events" - Adam

"It was a great event that you put on yesterday! Fantastic atmosphere and I thought the idea of having food/marshalling/repair checkpoints out on the course worked brilliantly. Of course, having superb weather really helped too. :-)"

"The race was fantastic, especially the fast downhill sections. If you could leave out those uphill bits it would be a lot more enjoyable! It was my first ever MTB race and I will be back."

"I just want to say thanks for running the race yesterday. I may have come last, or damn close to it, but I thought the event was fantastic, the course, for the distance was great, realistic, achievable, ridable, everything it should be. The catering idea is an absolute winner. I couldn't fault it (except for that horrible slippery bit we had to struggle up near the end, but you have to have a bit of that don't you). It was miles better than the Otway in pretty much every way. I'll be back"

"Thanks for a great day yesterday. It was so much fun. The course was great with something for everyone. Sign me up for next year!"

"Thanks for a great event. The tracks were fast and downhills so much fun, especially coming home. Speaking of coming home whose idea was it to provide rain that made the last single track so much......fun !!!!!!! ?????? So slippery and we are so unused to a wet, muddy surface! Entertaining!!

Having the event catered for made me eat and drink as I should, that was a real bonus. Well done, guess if I had come fourth my enjoyment level may be diminished BUT the event stood well on its merits"

- Ross

"First I would like to congratulate you on a mostly well-run event. The course was a good length with a balanced mix of fireroad and singletrack, and the self cater feature was very good (and very generous I may add for the very reasonable entry fee). I wish more events had this!"
